We have over the past 4 weeks complete the installation of our latest design floating solar system. The purpose of demonstrator was to identify the shortfalls in supply and logistics associated with the upcoming development of a larger scale project at this site.
In September 2021 we completed a bathymetric surveys to allow us to measure the depth of a water body as well as map the underwater features of a water body. We acquired a remote operated vessel ‘ROV’ for this purpose using a multibeam echo sounder attached to the boat which sends out a wide array of beams across a “swath” of the waterbody floor.
Part of the process involved the manufacture on site of the concrete ballast anchors which were required to secure our elastic tethering system to the array. The AQVAFLEX system is designed to hold the array in place while allowing vertical movement with the water levels.
